7.      Put a tipped orange stick into your cuticle remover and wipe over each cuticle and push back each cuticle in circular movement to move the less compliant cuticles;

8.      Wet your cuticle knife to carefully lift the cuticle from the nail plate while pushing it back;

9.      Use Cuticle nippers or scissors to remove excess cuticle, only cut away cuticles that cannot be moved back;

10.    Next, re-soak your hands then dry them with a clean unused cloth, if there is still water between the nails and the cuticles, pat it dry. It is important to remove cuticle remover from your hands after application as it’s a chemical that continues to work if it isn’t completely cleaned off. Dry and apply a good moisturiser all over the hand and arm up to the elbow, as this is a place everyone tends to forget;

11.    After leaving the hands for a few minutes to let the moisturizer soak into the skin, remove any access moisturizer from the nails. Clean the nails with cotton wool and enamel remover again to remove any oil from the moisturiser that is left on the nail plate;

12.    Now you should continue to apply nail enamel. Remember to never shake your polish! It will turn the polish into an emulsion which isn’t what you want, rather roll the bottle between your palms (like Manicurists do) to get rid of the air bubbles and stir the enamel;

13.    Apply your base coat and wait for it to dry, it is important to let it dry thoroughly as this base coat must not detach from the nail. Pick your coloured enamel and paint on, wait for the enamel to dry and apply the topcoat to coloured enamels. If you do not wish to paint your nails then just quickly go over them again with a finer buffer for a great shine;

14.    Lastly, use the orange stick and enamel remover to remove all traces of enamel left on the skin to make a the job look 100% professional.
