Massage Lotion

A distinction has to be made first off about the difference between massage lotions and massage oils. Massage oils are almost complete used for massaging purposes and are used normally for whole body purposes. Massage lotions however are a combination of massage oils and also moisturizing lotions to offer a double acting benefit. Almost all massages for manicure treatments use massage lotions as massage oils aren’t ideal.

The constitution of massage lotions are normally a combination of select natural oils that can be absorbed into the skin along with moisturizing creams. Massage lotions are generally less runny than moisturizing creams while having the texture of mechanical LM grease. The colors vary but most of the time comes in cream shades, sometimes green if extracts of plants like avocado are used.

The correct way to use massage lotions especially for manicure treatments is to firstly place an adequate amount on the pedicurist’s hands. The lotion must be mildly heated by rubbing it fast with both hands making the solution at least body temperature. The reason is to get the lotion properly activated, the oils in the lotion must be heated slightly to obtain good lubrication and to penetrate the skin properly.

When it comes to the proper massaging technique, make sure that all massaging motion should be from the wrist out to the fingers and not the other way around. The idea is to get the blood flowing to the extremities of the hands where it can nourish the nails and cuticles. The massaging should also not be overly hard, rather the idea is to get the blood flowing and isn’t to massage the muscles or tendons of the hands. The massage should not be done slow like a massage for the muscles, rather it should be faster than normal to make the blood flow faster and also keep the massage lotion at its effective temperature range.
